The Way I Learned to Read People

     Learning about psychology is a process I've been wanting tackle since I started 5th grade. The way different people react to different situations based on their past is fascinating. In the story I read, "Read People Like a Book" I learned that there are many different ways to read people. Body language usually speaks louder than words. Being able to read the vibe of people can give you an insight into what a person might be feeling/what they might not be telling you. If someone is blinking rapidly or their behavior seems suspicious, they might be hiding something. But you also have to keep in mind what their "normal" is and the context of the situation. Maybe the person has a test soon and their is because of nerves. Reading people is never gonna be right 100% of the time. It will just help you get a clue on what someone is like. 

    It's also good to take in the account that one clue is never enough. You shouldn't make judgments on one piece of body language. If someone speaks to you in an aggressive voice, that doesn't automatically mean they are mad at you or don't like you. Maybe they are having a bad day and they took their anger out on you. Now if this behavior repeats, then it's probably safe to assume that your suspicions might be correct. 

    This book is an amazing read. If you are fascinated by the wonderful world of psychology, I 100% recommend this book. You don't even need any background knowledge on scientifically words. I explains things in easy to learn sentences. I'm not a huge reader myself but once I pick this book up, I could read for hours. The narrator of the book talks to you like you are a student. It gives you many resources to use to figure out how much you already subconsciously know about reading people. It talks about personality quizzes that are great to get a basic read of yourself. 

    I haven't fully finished the book but I know I will in no time. It isn't like a textbook, big, bulky and heavy. It's like a novel, less pages but full of information. I hope you will take a look at this amazing book and maybe check out some more of Patrick Kings books. I know I will!
